The Vintage Theater and Café opened in 2009. Since then, it has been the place to go to see a live show of any type – performers range from local bands to poets and writers who read their work aloud to the audience. The Vintage has a relaxed, friendly, laid back vibe where you can take in a show and have a meal from the cafe at the same time. Really, it’s the best of both worlds!

2) Zaleski’s Clubhouse Café, 934 Beech Street, Scranton, PA 18505

A bar known primarily for its excellent hot wings, Zaleski’s Clubhouse Café also serves up pizza, pasta, soup and salads. Despite the name and the menu, one look at the baseball memorabilia on display and the specials, which revolve around draft beer and other deals, and you’ll quickly realize that this is a sports bar. The comfortable atmosphere and lively clientele only add to the ambiance of this hangout.

3) Idle Hour Lanes, 2008 Scranton Carbondale Highway, Scranton, PA 18505

Just when you’re ready to count out bowling alleys as a good place to spend the late night hours, you come across a place offering 24-hour access to the lanes. Idle Hour Lanes is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, and has numerous specials, including unlimited bowling on certain days of the week. There is Cosmic Bowling on weekend nights, plus a mini-golf course, a lounge and a restaurant. Basically, Idle Hour Lanes is a one-stop shop for those looking for something fun to do.

4) Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain, 1000 Montage Mountain Road, Scranton, PA 18505

If you like concerts, then Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain is for you. This outdoor live concert venue is open during the late spring and summer months, and boasts of drawing in national touring acts like KISS, Journey, the Steve Miller Band, Dierks Bentley and the Vans Warped Tour. Tickets prices and live acts vary, but the fun doesn’t.

Nightlife in Scranton, Pennsylvania ranges from the casual and laid back to the slightly more casual and laid back. Yes, you read that right – if you had to use one word to describe the places on this list, “relaxed” would probably be the first and most fitting.
