Tako Cheena: Eclectic fusion fare, A new flavor to Orlando's foodie scene!

The restaurant is a cross between a Mexican food truck and an Asian restaurant. The menu at Tako Cheena is pretty simple. They have takos, burritos, empanadas and hot dogs with different fillings.

The Takos can stand on their own, but you can add sauces and salsas for 33 cents each for a small, but ample serving. The tomatillo and kaffir lime is mild with subtle citrus notes; avocado-wasabi leaves a mild-to-medium creamy kick on the palate; sweet chili and smoked ghost pepper sauce has a sweet and sassy fire; and the roasted guajillo pepper blended with tomato paste and Thai sriracha gives a savory singe.

Asian hot dogs are made with Chinese sweet sausage — not your average ballpark item. You could choose the bánh mì variation with pickled daikon radish, crisp cucumber, cilantro and spicy mayo. Korean- and Japanese-inspired dogs are also on the menu.

The African-inspired burrito with braised beef comes stuffed with quinoa (a highly nutritious grain), potatoes, sweet bell peppers and corn. The texture and flavor notes were nicely balanced. But the winner in this category is the Korean burrito filled with tender, marinated bulgogi beef, kimchi fried rice, chopped green onions, a judicious touch of peppery Thai sriracha and cilantro.

If you're looking for food truck flavor, creativity and pricing without having to chase one down, Tako Cheena is the place to go. It's a great spot to share a meal with friends without breaking the bank.
